The travelin pants post

So far while im reading this book, it is about four girls who are each doing different things over the summer time. And while each of them are traveling to these different places, they take turns borrowing these magic pants. They also write letters to eachother from where they are for example one of the girls is in Greece visiting with her grandparents, while her grandma tries to hook her up with some boy named Kostos. And another girl went to a soccer canp for the summer and she falls in love with this coach that works there but he is 3 years older than her. The third girl, Cameron, goes to visit her father and then discovers that her dad is engaged and the woman he is engaged to has 2 blonde haired children that she believes don't like her. And the last girl Tibby is stuck at home working at this grocery store and has to deal with this 12 year old who has leukemia that all of a sudden wants to be her friend because she called the hospital ir this girl when she suddenly fainted in one of the isles of the grocery store.

The girl that I am going to focus on is Bee the one who is going to a soccer camp for the whole summer. The first day she comes to this camp she sees this coach and immediately makes it her job to be with him by the end of the summer. She does whatever it takes to even get him to notice her, even if it means getting into trouble. For example, one night she convinces her friends to go with her to a club that all of the coaches and older girls in her camp go to to hang out. And she ends up seeing him there and gets her to dance with him. But then her plan gets ruined. While their dancing together Bee was flirting with him so mich to a point where he said,"we can't do this". It was said between all of the girls in that camp that many of them have already tried to get with him as well but no one succeeded. He just doesn't mesh with anyone he coaches with. But it seems to me like this coach has feelings for her which is why I dont understand why  he doesnt want to be with Bee. So I'm going to read more and find out about how their relationship will find out

Romeo and juliet essay

Romeo an Juliet both face dealing with the  difficulty of their choices and portray an idea of cause an effect to their own decisions. Both Romeo and Juliet know that they have to take responsibility for their actions although it may be good or bad. In shakespears Romeo and Juliet the way they rationalize their decisions is an effect o their youth.

Romeo and Juliet both show signs of taking responsibility for their actions. For example when they get married, Romeo takes it upon himself to talk to Friar Lawrence and ask him what his thoughts are on marrying Juliet. Romeo says, " Then plainly know my heart's dear love is set/ on the fair daughter of rich Capulet. / As mine on hers, so hers is setbon mine,/ And all combined, save what thou must combine/ By holy marriage./ When and where and how/ we met, we wooed, and made exchange of vow/ I'll tell thee as We pass, but this I pray/ that thou consent to marry us today." So Romeo is basically asking Friar Lawrence for "his consent" for them to get married. Meanwhile, Romeo does not know what will be the effect of him marrying a Capulet for one, and also this shows an act of his ignorant youth for not thinking about the consequences before talking to Friar Lawrence about marrying her.

The choices that Romeo and Juliet make also have to do with responsibility because it leads to horrible consequences. Romeo and Juliet are young teens who are bound to make decisions without thinking about what their doing first. An example of when their actions lead to a bad consequence is when Romeo gets baniahed from Verona because he killed a Capulet; which was Tynalt ( Juliet's cousin). If Romeo had never killed Tybalt he would be able to stay in Verona and he would be in on Friar Lawrence and Juliet's plan. Once Juliet had drank the potion, so that she wouldn't have to marry Paris, Romeo wouldn't think she was dead, and he would actually know that the potion was only a sleeping potion. If Romeo would have been reaponsible enough to actually dwell on the decision of killing Tybalt or not the whole fiasco would have never occured. Which also brings us back to their youth because since Romeo's only sign of guidance is Friar Lawrence he actually doesn't have anyone to tell him right from wrong, or for him not to do anything because he does what he wants.

When Romeo comes back to the tomb when Juliet lies next to Tybalt, Romeo feels regretful for killing Tybalt. He feels this way because now that he is officially married to Juliet, he is now part of their family. While Romeo is in the tomb he asks for forgiveness because he now realizes what he has become and what his feelings lead him to do. Romeo says," Tybalt, liest thou there in thy bloody sheet?/ O, what more favor can I do to thee/ than with that hand that cut thy youth in twain/ to sunder his that was thine enemey?/ Forgive me, cousin." This is the moment when Romeo reflects on all the bad things that occured. When Mercrutio gets slain by Tybalt, when he gets banished from Verona, and now he discovers that Juliet is supposedly dead.

In Romeo and Juliet their actions really show how young love can be naieve. Romeo suddenly wants to marry Juliet when he sees her at the party because it was love at first sight. And they make sacrafices for eachother like sneaking out so that they can get secretly married. And they make a plan and the nurse tells Juliet to meet "by the hour of nine." Also when Juliet makes her plan with Friar Lawrence to drink the potion so that everyone could think that she's dead, she can then run away with Romeo and everything would be "perfect". But in the end we all knew it wasn't. Young love can be very over poweing and in this case it was for these two love birds. Romeo kills Tybalt; i he haden't Tybalt would've killed him, and he also killed him because he loved Huliet and he didn't want to give her up. And that shows Romeo and Juliets naieve, young, love.

In conclusion Romeo and Juliet face difficult decisions while mulitple things pccur in their lives just to make things that much difficult. Romeo and Juliet both end up taking their choices out of proportion because they don't agree with their parents, and they dont think about their actions before they do them. Which is where their youth comes all into play. Throughout the whole atory they don't realize their consequences until they actually fce the consequences in reality. Their youth is what got the beat of them and is what over powered their choices. But in the end they both did get what they wanted, which was to be together . Although this time... It is in heaven.

Perks of being a wallflower post

Charlie from the book The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, was actually a very good student in school, he believed in trying to get good grades. He was always focused on reading books, throughout the book he's always reading a book twice.Charlie does worry a lot about other people. Its almost as if he cares more about the people then he does about himself. it seems he wants to make everyone truly happy. His senior friends, Sam and Patrick are a big part of his life. He especially makes sure that they are happy with him. I think that Charlie just wants to live in a happy environment and he doesn't want people angry or fighting or things in that order which is why he tries to ease everyone. And that is okay if you want your friends to like you and be happy that you are their friend. In my opinion Charlie may need some time so step out of the box and reflect on himself.

Charlie in the book doesn't really pay attention to himself like he should. In the book, Charlie did everything for Sam and Patrick. He would leave his house at 3 in the morning sometimes just to go see them or hang out with them. he needs sleep and he doesn't really get it because of them. Another example for that is that he's starting to do bad things in his life. He's starting to smoke and drink. Meanwhile he is just a freshmen in high school. I am getting the vibe that he wants to make everyone happy but he doesn't realize how badly he is treating himself. So at the end of the day it all comes down to how your treating your self because it is said that many people who make friends usuallyget more   attracted to either the same personality traits as their friends or friends that have things "in common" with them. And i also get the vibe that Charlie is a follower because he started seeing his friends smoke, so he got into the habit of doing it too. Im not so sure that he should be trying to follow them, yeah they could be the best of friends but why follow your friends if you are your own person. Which all relies back to caring for yourself, respecting your self, and keeping to your own opinions about how you do things in life.

Charlie seems very troubled in my opinion. It seems to me like he is a go with the flow type of person and will do whatever his friends do because he likes them and he wants them to like him. and also because he hangs out with them a lot! He seems very loyal to his friends but unfortunetly in loyal. To himself. In the book he shows a lot of struggles and rising levels in his life. Charlie needs to worry about his school work and his life at home with family. Friends shouldn't be his #1 priority even though his friends probably care about him a lot. Do you think Charlie will ever learn to care for himself just a little bit more? I still have questions that have not yet been answered.

The lovely bones

About a month ago I was reading the book called The lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. This is an amazing novel about a girl who unfortunately gets raped and murdered, but then watches her families experience after her death. And while she is in heaven watching over her family she is still trying to figure out how she died her self. And then she later comes to realize that the person that raped her did not only rape her, he also raped many other younger girls as well. And really this is a very tragic story.

In my opinion, I think that the main character in this book Susie Salmon was a bit too leniant with her time. Meaning that she basically stayed out late and was by her self in big areas in the suburbs. And when she first met her neighbor ( the person who raped her) he did seem a little suspiocious. But I mean, I guess in her mind she was thinking, " well hey, you can't expext anything bad from someone who is trying to sell flowers to you." I think that even though they lived in the suburbs the whole family should have been always aware of their surroundings. The reason why I say that is because bad things don't only happen in the city, a lot of dangerous things can happen in the suburbs because it's twice as worse. I also think that Susie's parents should have been more aware of their new neighbor because if you also watch the movie, he doesn't look like the typical home inviting neighbor. I believe that if Susie's parents were more aware in general including her sister, they would have been able to catch on faster to the neighbors' creepy signs of being a pedifile.

If you read this book, You won't regret it because there are so man emotions that you are going to feel just from Susie expressing how her experience was being raped and what it was like to be in heaven. This novel discribes heaven beautifully but also scary at the same time. And I've realized that this book helped me to focus more on the characters' thoughts and feelings more than just the main plot of the book because I actually felt what these characters felt while reading. So I highly reccommend others to read this book.

Lock and key

To add onto my last response on lock and key, Ruby is really not handeling all of the information that Cora had told her well. After Cora had told her that their mother had lied to her and kept secrets from her the entire time it was hard for Ruby to take that in. She never knew that Cora was always sending her letters and invitations to her invents and tryin to track down Ruby any way that she could. Ruby had to figure it out herself that her mother would always change the addresses she wrote down on schools so that Cora couldn't find her. So the truth really is that although Ruby's family is messed up as a whole, there may be something even bigger than that. And I mean a big issue that is between Cora and their mother.
The author still hasn't explained to me as a reader, what the true reason was for Ruby's mother disappearing. So that still remains uncalled for. But the reason why I say Ruby isn't taking this information well is because right after Cora and Ruby had that conversation it was time for Ruby to go off to school. And with any teen it might be a little challenging for some to have to go to school with a bung of drama that you have just heard at home and expect to keep yourself contained when really, you can't. So what did Ruby do? She skipped school and decided to get high and drink. And in the process of her innermost vulnerability she was yet saved again by Nate when she passed out in the middle of the woods. And between that time things did get a little rough when Nate did eventually bring her home.

Lock and key (spoiler alert)

I am still reading the book called lock and key by Sarah Dessen. There is more that I have discovered about the relationship ruby and her sister Cora have. And I think you'll find this interesting to read.
Now as it gets further into the school year Ruby is becoming more accustomed to living in Cora's house. And she's actually enjoying the carpool rides that she has to take with Nate "the most popular boy in her school", but she is still back to her old ways not trying to make any friends.
Between Ruby and Cora, Ruby was able to communicate more with Cora. Ruby found out a lot more about her sister and she discovered that her sister was actually a really social person. She also found out that Cora is trying to have a baby with her husband Jamie.

Later on in the book is where all of the secrets were unlocked about Ruby's life. Cora tries her best to explain to Ruby that she was always trying to look for her while she was in college so that she could bring Ruby with her and live together. Cora never wanted to leave Ruby alone with their mother because their mother has been a wreck ever since their parents have gotten seperated. But Ruby didn't believe Cora when she was telling her all of this because their mom had told Ruby that Cora had no loner wanted anything to do with them. When Ruby first moved in with Cora she was unaware that Cora had even gotten married. But yet Cora personally handed an invitation to her mom saying that Ruby had a choice of whether or not she wanted to come to the wedding.

Ruby found out that everything Cora had to say was true. Ruby began to really think about what her sister said because ever since her sister left the house her mother would say," it's just me and you baby, just me and you." And prier to that when Cora left, she was about 18. Since Ruby wanted to leave as soon as she turned 17, she figured that her mom might as well leave her first before her last daughter walks out on her. That's why Ruby thinks that her mom disappeared.

In my opinion I believe that Even though it hurt Cora to express the truth to Ruby it had to be said. Ruby had had hate for Cora for the longest because she thought that Cora abandoned her. So in the book the author continues to throw more things at Ruby for her to deal with. But maybe this was a good thing for Ruby to find out the hard way e cause then she can have more o a reason to stay with Cora and let the bond between them build. So that Ruby can forget about her mom leaving et and start a new life. So I will keep reading.

Lock and Key

I am currently reading a book called Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen. This is a book about a girl who had a troubled life when living with her mom and now she is forced to live under the circumstances of her sister, whom she had not seen in over 10 years. Now that I have read more into the book I have figured out what the cause of Ruby's family structure was like, and what teared her family apart.

In the beginning of the story Ruby and her mother live in a farm house working together going to work with eachother everyday. "Helping eachother out." But then after Ruby's mother disappears it left me as a reader, confused. Because I knew that the relationship between Ruby and her mother wasn't the best relationship, but it wasn't necessarily a horrible one it was more of an understanding between the two of them. At least from my perspective. But now I have a clue as to why Ruby had gotten abandoned by her mother. I can surmise that her mother left because she didn't want to live in that farmhouse anymore and she probably just wanted to go off with her boyfriend, because she ignores Ruby every time her mother invites her boyfriend over. And I think that there may be some tyoe of justice being served after Ruby's mother left because Ruby was actually happy living by her self.

It seems like Ruby is dieing to be a grown up because she is almost 18. Ruby is the type of character that is very independent and depends on no one but herself. When her mother gave her the opportunity to live on her own she wasn't doing so well. And she was living in very poor conditions until her sister had to step in; after 10 years of her not being in contact with her family what so ever.

Now that Ruby is staying with her sister Cora, the relationship between eachother is also damaged. And in this section of the book is where I discovered that when Cora and Ruby were little Cora used to protect Ruby when she was little because of their mother. Their mother was an alchoholic and would be very violet when she had too much to drink. Ever since then when Cora had gotten older she moved out and never wanted anything to do with the family again. And when Ruby and Cora were reunited it was an awkward sort of tension between the two. They used to be so close but now they both act like they have never had any sort of relation to eachother.

To conclude this post, there are many mixed emotions and questions that are still un- answered about this tattered family. But I will get to answer the remaining questions that I still have. For example, why doesn't Cora try to communicate with Ruby like she used to when they were little, or fill Ruby in on what she's been doing in her life. And also why didn't Cora take Ruby with her to raise her on her own instead of leaving Ruby with their alcoholic mother. And hopefully I will be able to get a better understanding and a more detailed story as to why Ruby's  mother became the way she is now.

Lock and key blog post

The lives of teenagers may seem very typical when an average adult is talking about one. They usually all perceive teenagers the same way. But for this teenager named Ruby, her life is a life that you wouldn't be able to compare to any (typical) life of a teenager. Ruby experiences in my opinion, one of the most confusing teenage life all because of one person.

In this book that I am reading called Lock and key, this character named Ruby who is about 17 or 18 in the beginning, lives with her mother in a farm house. And throughout Ruby's time living with her mom in this small farm house, they both make a living together off of one bedroom and the rest of their house requirements. And then all of a sudden Ruby get's abandoned by her mother and she is forced to make a living on her own for a little while. Meanwhile her landlords are unaware of Ruby's mother's disappearance so things start to go wrong in the place that they were staying in. And she has to face struggles that a normal teenager wouldn't have to face just quite yet by paying bills on their own or being forced to struggle with the circumstances that you were put in. And in this case Ruby's struggle was not being able to pay her rent, or able to fix her broken appliances. In a way I feel like this part of the book is confusing because no one in actuality could just get up and go for no apparent reason. Or not return from home one day, there would obviously have to be a logical reason for why that person left. For example, if they had gotten into an argument about something and then the next day the person would be so angry or upset that they would not show up from when the left. And I also find it confusing why Ruby doesn't seem to care as to why her mother had left in the first place.

After Ruby's mother had left the land lords had eventually found out about her living alone in the farm house for a little while and they began to question Ruby about her mother and where she had gone. And all Ruby's response was that she didn't know and then all conversation had ended there. From Ruby's response to the land lords I was under the impression that she liked to be by herself and she didn't care much for her mother. Because when her mother WAS in fact around, her mother didn't really say much to Ruby unless she had to. It was never the close mother daughter relationship that some people might have with their mothers when it's only just two people living in that household.

I can infer that maybe since the beginning they never had a close  relationship. Ruby also has another older sister, who had left the household at 19. And got her life together because now she lives in a nice big home, happily married. But my inference is that there had to be some drama within the family within the time that Ruby's sister left and the time that Ruby and her mom lived together in that farm house. Now that the fact that Ruby was living alone in that farm house she now has to move in with her sister who she hasn't spoken to in 10 years. Which is also why I believe that Ruby's mom walked out for some dramatic reason that wasn't yet shown in the book yet. Clearly from just the beginning of the book, while reading, I can tell her life isn't like an average teenager.
